Goonj Collection (Daan Utsav)
Goonj’s ‘Dil ki Suno, Kuch Karo’ campaign during ‘Daan Utsav’. Daan Utsav (earlier called the Joy of Giving Week), is India's own Festival of Giving which is celebrated every year from October 2nd to 8th. It is a completely volunteer-driven initiative pan India, encouraging people to do any act of giving of their choice.
‘Dil ki Suno,Kuch Karo’ is our clarion call during Daan Utsav to stand for our fellow citizens especially children in villages and missed-out communities (sex workers, transgender, differently-abled, HIV+ people, leprosy afflicted etc). Two years on, as our children attend classes online, the children in villages may not even recollect what their classrooms looked like, or remember how to read and write. Still, traditional textbooks, notebooks, pencils are their key resources for learning. While the missed-out communities who already survive on the edge of the society, have been pushed away further and are struggling to survive during the pandemic phase. Goonj has been supporting the communities with the basics.
We would like to invite you to bring joy to the lives of many by fulfilling the growing monetary and material resource need. Join us to be a part of this Giving Festival. Starting October 2nd, Goonj volunteers in Solan will be organizing collection drives in various offices, residential societies and other establishments encouraging more people to contribute. You too can participate. Register with us now!
